Ross is a small, largely residential community in Marin County, California located approximately 18 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Ross celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2008. While the railroad and horses of 1908 are gone, the residential neighborhoods still suggest a changeless quality.
Ross’ small-town feel and its open and tree-covered hills, winding creeks, graciously landscaped streets, gardens, and low-density development all contribute to its special charm.

The existing scale and quality of architecture, along with a low density of development, create a community where the man-made and natural environments co-exist in harmony.
Our Town Council strives to preserve and enhance this historical low-density character and identity that is unique to the Town of Ross.
We are located in the County of Marin, California approximately 18 miles north of San Francisco over the Golden Gate Bridge. Ross is 1.6 square miles and has 2,401 residents. Our town center includes the wonderful Ross Common, the nationally renowned Ross School, and the charming, albeit small, Ross commercial area.
